At Harrington Construction, community isn’t just where we build – it’s who we are. As a family-owned business, founded by Mike and Linda Harrington, we believe in the power of showing up, giving back, and investing in the place we call home. From monetary donations to countless volunteer hours and hands-on support for local causes, the Harringtons have always seen community involvement as an extension of their family values. Whether it’s sponsoring youth programs, rolling up their sleeves at the local soup kitchens, or supporting long-standing philanthropic efforts, they’ve led by example – proving that when a business is rooted in heart, it builds more than commercial projects; our team builds a stronger, more concerned community.

Help 4 Kids and Back Pack Buddies Inspired by the devastation of Hurricane Hugo in 1989, two friends discovered the extent of local poverty and hunger, sparking the creation of this 100% volunteer organization. Help 4 Kids now serves around 3,000 children weekly, providing food, clothing, and school supplies. Harrington Construction has proudly stood behind their mission for more than 30 years, helping ensure they have the resources to keep serving local children in need.
The Miracle League The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. Since the main barriers for these adults arise from the natural grass fields used in conventional leagues, Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assertive devices while helping to prevent injuries. Since 2001, Harrington Construction has been supporting their efforts and enjoy watching each player achieve their dream to play baseball.
United Way of Horry County has served our community for over 50 years connecting resources to help the most vulnerable in our Horry County. Harrington Construction Company helped to construct their new office complex in Conway, SC. We are proud supporters of the Give Where You Live initiative.
Lowcountry Preparatory School, located in Pawleys Island, SC is a STEM-Certified, Advanced Placement (AP) school offering a coeducation program for grades K-12. Harrington Construction Co. assisted this school for a number of years while Mike Harrington’s grandson attended. We built lockers, helped with the process of design-build and budgeting for future buildings, and in monetary donations for annual fundraisers.
The MBHS All Sports Booster Club believes that sporting events are an important part of a well-rounded high school experience, not only for the athletes but also for the entire student body. Jeff Harrington, Vice President of Harrington Construction is a proud Seahawk, Class of 1986 (?ask Jeff to be sure) and his two children also graduated from MBHS. The family has always been proud supporters of the Booster Club.
Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach The athletic sports complex is a highly visible asset for any school program and we were delighted to participate in building the bleachers, press box, and bathrooms at this new facility. Harrington Construction partnered with multiple vendors in 2024 in our community to help bring this new complex to vision.
Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum In 1984 the Villa was donated to the Art Museum and this “beach house” was moved across town to the current location where Harrington Construction Company assisted this non-profit in construction of the new foundation, decks, and walk-ways. We are proud supporters of our local Art Museum and Art Community.
Community support doesn’t just mean the folks right next door. Over the years Harrington Construction Co. Inc. has shown “Supporting Our Community” means supporting on a broader scale so when any of our neighbors are in need: We Are There!
Adaptive Surf Project Jun 24, 2024 We were able to provide beach wheelchairs to two very wonderful families today. Thank you Harrington Construction who donated these chairs in honor of Linda Harrington, a beach wheelchair pioneer for the Grandstrand. We now have dozens of chairs out in the community and it's still not enough to meet the needs of the people that need them. We need help! If you own a business, a church, or whatever willing to house and provide beach wheelchairs for free to people that need than, we can help make that happen. Please message us! Together, we can make the world a better place!
